What’s Next

What’s next?  That is a pretty good question.  We have been trying to answer that question for a while and only recently discerned some answers for ourselves.  Now that we have them, or some of them, we are excited to share them with you, and let you know what is next for the Gorans.

Firstly, we are moving to Texas.  Or, I guess, staying in Texas because that is where we are right now living with my parents.  This return for me is after 10 years of being gone, and I guess it isn’t a return for David, it will be the first time he has lived in Texas.  I’m glad he is making this commitment before he experiences his first summer.

Texas is the destination of choice because as of July 1st David will recieve a full time appointment somewhere in The Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.  The Texas Conference has been especially wonderful to us.  It is the conference that ‘sent’ us to Ukraine and now they are willing to receive us in America.

Until he starts his new employment, David and I will be visiting churches and saying good-bye as well as thank you to many of our supporting churches.  We hope to see as many of you all as possible, but it will not be possible to see everyone.  We will be spending most of our time itinerating in Illinois and Texas due to a limited amount of time.

As for me, I will stay home with the children.  I am very excited about this opportunity.  I will have a 3 year old, and almost 2 year old and by the end of August a newborn.  Yes.  David and I are pregnant again, and are very happy.  This is a very unexpected joy for us, and we are embracing it.  A new life and a new beginning.

We hope to write another post soon updating everyone about the future of the ministry in Ukraine.  Until then, here are some pictures.

  1. Congrats all the way around! It’s exciting to hear what you will be up to and where God is leading you. I pray you enjoy this new part of ministry. Also, so excited to hear a new little one is on the way. Will you be finding out what it is? Still would love to reconnect with you all sometime, hopefully sooner rather than later! Many blessings!

  2. Hi Shannon,

Congratulations on the baby news and that you will be moving to Texas! We are from Ohio originally but we got here 1977 Don and 79 for me, or as we like to tell people we got here as quickly as we could. We haven’t had to use the a/c or heat in a month or two and that my friend is a blessing David will get used to. The first summer will be touch but being an guy that likes to be outdoors he will just need to be around water. J

We look forward to seeing you again.
